| Tamworth Castle | An excellent venue. The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by both children and staff and has sparked a real interest in the children. The visit was simple from start to finish, and castle staff were excellent in engaging the children and ensuring that the day ran smoothly. | WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre | We had a fantastic experience at Slimbridge. It was wonderful to see our year 7's being children and enjoying interacting with the birds and nature. The students favourite aspect of the day was definitely feeding the birds, and having the opportunity to draw from them first hand. We are aiming to build this trip into next years curriculum to inspire 3D work in the classroom. | Kingswood Staffordshire | Organisation at Kingswood Staffordshire is poor. Activity groups were too large which meant children waited for long periods of time whilst getting extremely cold. The site seems to be run by a very young and inexperienced group of people. We also have questions about safety and activity regulations at the site. | Magna Science Centre | The trip was very successful for a number of reasons. The centre itself has lots to see and do and the quizzes provided beforehand were invaluable tools to keep the children engaged and focus their learning. The four different zones ensured a breadth of knowledge was covered. The workshop was well-led and the children were highly engaged. Many of the activities had been covered beforehand in class. It might have been useful to have more detailed scientific explanations during the workshop or even further learning challenges to be completed back in the classroom. (This is just a suggestion). Some of the activities in the 'fire' zone were out of order which was a little disappointing. | 15 March 2020 |
