Description
JCA have over 20 years of experience in providing fun and educational adventures for primary and secondary school aged groups. Our activity based trips look to develop children’s learning outside the classroom in a stimulating and exciting environment, equipping them with skills to build upon throughout life.
Condover Hall is JCA's year round dedicated activity located in the beautiful Shropshire countryside and offers day and residential multi-activity courses from 2-4 nights. Each of our programmes promote educational and personal development in-line with the national curriculum and of course, fun!

really outstanding staff - so motivated, patent, enthusiastic, kind, motivating, talented from start to finish. Place wonderful - Grade 1 Elizabethan hall and original fireplace - gardens to die for - beautiful terraces, trees, topiary pretty unique - lovely lake, river, views. Food organisation outstanding too - staff really careful about allergies etc and great staggered system so we were not waiting. Activities fab - exciting but not terrifying! And very varied! Certain aspects of Condover Hall were great. The accommodation was in dorms of up to 10 beds, the downside is that there is only 1 shower and toilet per dorm. There was a good variety of food and the specific needs of those with different dietary needs were well catered for. The indoor and outdoor day and evening activities were well supervised and the instructors gave clear instructions. The netball was played over two sites with a good walk between them. This meant that staff had to be split between the two areas which wasn’t ideal. Overall, the weekend was enjoyed by all. (March 2022 - Secondary School)

Great trip overall, the Netball was well organised and sufficient for us. Lunch could have been better and because of the timings of netball was packed lunch- but the same cost and a little disorganised. Staff were all totally amazing , very helpful and great with queries/feedback. An excellent weekend full of netball, plenty of activity for the pupils and lots of independence for them. Enjoyable meet up of Trust schools and seeing other Trust staff. Well looked after. An improvement in facilities with additional netball court, new accommodation block, covered areas for teams by the courts. A well organised and efficently run netball tournament. The on site staff ensured that all students had a fun time. The safety of the students was paramount to the on site staff, before using any of the apparatus full safety instructions were given and safety equipement ie helmets and harnesses etc were checked. Accommodation was quite tired looking with several issues surrounding heating, blinds and having enough rooms for all children. None of the issues were resolved whilst we were there. We were advised to have activity groups of no more than 12 children which gave is 5 groups altogether however on arriving there was not enough activity staff allocated and we were forced to reallocate to 4 groups, making waiting times on activities longer. Our timetable was not given to us and some of our groups were unaware of dinner times etc - this was only put up in the foyer, in the past we were given packs so that we could share information across the group. The overall organisation was a little lacking as was the enthusiasm of some of the leaders. The actual activities were good and did help the children to gain confidence and build resilience. The food was good and the rooms were clean. However, we had a couple of issues that I discussed with the manager before our departure. These included a lack of a plan B when the weather was bad and being left waiting in the rain for almost 1/2 hour with no instructor. This trip was unappealing this time, as it was during most schools half-term therefore there weren't any school parties around, more families were. Probably, April wasn't the best time to go either. The activities were spot on though so the children had fun, one of the leaders wasn't very good at all really so that group didn't get as good a deal. On the whole, it was ok! Extra mile cards were left for certain playleaders. Felt that some needed a wider use of songs / circle time activities. Accomodation was good. Food and service in the dinner hall was excellent.
