The visit allowed the children to face their fears and for some to overcome these during adventurous activities. The life skill learnt by some was also great to see as for many of our children this was their first time away from parents. (June 2024)

Fantastic venue, range of physical activities. Good balance of indoor/outdoor choices.

Learning outdoors is a fantastic way to engage young children, most of the pupils in our school never get to experience anything like this and the whole experience has an impact on them - having to work as a team, meeting and working with new people, thinking independently and having to make decisions for themselves. All of these prove quite a challenge at times - but the pupils get there and feel a sense of pride and achievement in themselves. (July 2022 - Primary School)

Pupils had a brilliant time.
The accommodation and food were excellent and there can be no complaints.
Activities were good. Maybe more variety of activities would have been good to have offered and activities that pupils rarely have the chance to do outside of school. For example the girls really enjoyed rifle shooting as they have never done it before.
The netball tournament was well organised although some of the umpires were too lenient, which is OK for younger players but not for years 10 and 11. A stricter, but fairer approach would have been appreciated. (March 2022 - Secondary School)
All students had an enjoyable experience. The staff at PGL were brilliant, food was amazing and the center had lots of opportunities for students. (March 2022 - Secondary School)

The children had a fantastic time whilst at PGL! (March 2022 - Primary School)
Excellent organisation and support throughout arranging the residential and attending. Team leaders to work alongside you throughout the residential. A wide range of activities with varying levels of challenge. All pupils can a achieve, they are encouraged to leave their comfort zone and to stretch themselves as much as they can. The childen had a fantastic time in beautiful surroundings. (February 2022 - Primary School)
The students had a fantastic time on the trip experiencing a wide range of activities and learning new skills as well as team building. Overall the students were happy with everything but felt the catering could have been of better quality and variety. (February 2022 - Secondary School)

(December 2021 - Primary School)
Services and activities were excellent, along with the facilities. As the session was conducted at the end of their season, the enthusiasm of the staff was somewhat lacking, most likely due to the close down of the centre. Overall, the children enjoyed the trip immensely. (November 2021 - Primary School)
Excellent provision for the children and staff. (November 2021 - Primary School)
Really good facility - food could have been better and room sizes did not support night time routine. (October 2021 - Secondary School)

The centre was fantastic. There was a wide range of activities, which were adapted to suit students needs. The staff were friendly, and helpful. They both engaged and motivated students with different sessions. Staff were able to work with their groups building on relationship and got involved in some of the activities too.
The food was also very good, with plenty on offer which catered to all the dietary needs that were stated.
Accommodation was clean and warm. The lodges were situated closely to each other and meant during free time students interacted with different groups, and build on further friendships.

(March 2019 - Primary School)
PGL staff were enthusiastic and helpful, although not always aware of children's specific, identified needs. The ground was very hilly and a lot of time was wasted walking backwards and forwards between and waiting for PGL staff to arrive. Inside accommodation would be preferable as the lodges had external doors. (March 2019 - Primary School)
(March 2019 - Secondary School)
Very well organised from the moment we arrived till we left. There were many activities to choose from, all of which the children really enjoyed.
Staff who led the sessions were enthusiastic, encouraging and put the children at ease to have a go at them. (February 2019 - Primary School)

The centre staff were brilliant, the activities exciting and well-run and all children had an amazing few days. We had to ask several times, however, for arrangements to be made for an adult to sleep in a different room so that children would not be unaccompanied in a separate building from the main group - despite us asking for this prior to the visit, this had not been arranged. Otherwise it was great. (March 2018 - Primary School)
