Field Studies Council - Epping Forest

Leading Provider of Geography and Science (Biology) Fieldwork

Description

Field Studies Council is a charity that aims to bring environmental understanding to all. We believe the more we know about and take inspiration from the world around us the more we can appreciate its needs and protect its diversity and beauty for future generations.

One of the many ways we do this is by providing well-designed, expertly delivered educational experiences for school groups, set in some of the UK's most stunning locations. Each year over 3,000 school groups, from key stage 1 to university level, visit our centres for geography or science (biology) fieldwork and cross-curricular environmental activity courses.

We have a network of UK field centres to choose from. Please click on our website to find out more about the courses we can deliver and our locations.

(June 2023 - Secondary School)

Good small group course - would recommend to any A level students who haven't managed to attend their own schools fieldwork (June 2023 - Secondary School)

Quality of teaching from FSC was patchy. Many of the staff it was their second day. The instructions given to students were not clear, and the task was not gone over in the class rooms so students had no idea about how the methods linked to the research question or what the research question was. One group couldnt go to one of the sites as their member of staff refused to walk down the hill. Overall the experience of the FSC was poor contributing to us completing the fieldwork in house in future. In house will also be more cost effective. (April 2023 - Secondary School)

Excellent delivery and facilities making the day enjoyable and informative for the pupils (April 2023 - Secondary School)
