NST Travel Group | | Pros
• Useful app with main details for passports, medical issues, dietary needs and all easily downloadable
• Good system to upload rooming when available
• Useful trip checklist on My Tour Manager
• Good to have all certification already uploaded on My Tour Manager
• Stabia Hotel – a really good hotel with fantastic staff. Highly recommended for groups
• Good response times to emails and easy to contact the call centre
• Good coaches in Italy
• Excellent guides in Pompeii
• Agreed to reimburse us for entrance to sites for teachers as there was no mention of this cost before
Cons:
• Had to ask about BA flights as not investigated that option when providing a quote
• Offered inferior accommodation initially, which had terrible reviews.
• Told could have 2 free nights for recce but had to insist on staying in the hotel we booked for students. Booked independently but didn't share details so it was stressful when there as the hotel didn't recognise my name, school or NST. No indication it was booked under 'destination services'
• Sent wrong invoice which needed checking
• Not clear how long we had a guide before booking. Email and itinerary said a guide for 7 hours, but actually 5 hours in Pompeii but would be with us on coach. As it turned out, the excellent guides met us there and were with us for the day, so we got good value for money, but communication could be clearer.
• Would have been good to be informed about Brexit rules on meat/dairy imports so that students are not allowed to take packed lunches into Italy as we had discussed them buying food for the journey.
• Ice cream tour booked away 2 separate groups (at 1pm and 2pm) and this was confirmed on the phone and in writing, but when we got to the venue in Sorrento, we found that it was actually booked as one big group at 1pm.
• The agent never met me in Italy. Asked if needed a voucher for ice cream and provided email address and WhatsApp but only sent it after I had been told we were one big group. Agreed their info was different from NST info.
• Couldn't get hold of the Italian agent when coach to airport did not turn up for 40 mins, despite calling and messaging on WhatsApp. Response over an hour later just saying "sorry I was working". Do they not actually work for NST?
• Was told city tax was 3 euros pp/1.50 pp/ for over 14/for over 18 and conflicting information via email, itinerary and phone. It was 1.50 pp and for everyone over 14. This is not what I was told on the Thursday before going.
• On this call, they mentioned rooming was available Thursday at 3:30pm but didn't notify me until Friday morning when knew I was at Sports Day and would not be able to access details. Without asking, allocated non-binary student to a single room. Neither helpful nor appropriate for this autistic student. I had to call at 4:15pm on Friday as "seen you'd sent an email last night but not got around to it". Hoped for greater priority considering we were leaving at 5am on Monday.
• No mention we had to pay for entrance fees until on final itinerary. Final itinerary not sent until Tuesday before we left and only after chasing.
• Original itinerary had strange timings, like checking out at 9am and coach arriving 11am.
• No help with lunch options and seem to have little knowledge of sites.
• No booking reference at any of sites. Archaeological Museum only let us in as it was quiet. Need a booking reference number, which was not provided.

Edventure Travel Limited | | Tour operator:
Edventure were very efficient in helping me to put the programme together and most of what was agreed in advance was delivered.
Hotels were excellent and no problems at all. All pre-booked visit locations were secured. All transport was secured.
However, there were a few surprises:
The 2 pre-paid meals were paid on the night by the tour guides using a corporate credit card. Neither tour guide (Washington DC & New York) was aware that they had to do this but after discussion with myself and their manager (Aaron Killian), they agreed to do so. The restaurants had expected me to pay and students to select from standard menus.
Tour guides in Washington & New York seemed to expect a generous tip from the group despite myself gaining written confirmation from Edventure that this was already included in the price. I only realised this on seeing the departure of our Washington guide who was clearly disappointed not to receive anything but I was unprepared for this and unable to rectify the situation. Following a discussion with the New York tour guide at our first meeting in my hotel room, we agreed that I would provide a tip and this certainly encouraged him to do his utmost for our group. We experienced an excellent tour with him and all parties left highly satisfied.
Pre-paid meal at La Puglia, New York was lacking in quality though strangely the students really enjoyed it!
New York Tour Guide:
It was with pleasant surprise that our New York tour guide turned up upon our arrival and continued to accompany and support us throughout our time in the city. This was not included on the itinerary as I expected him for only part of the time. However, this greatly improved the student & staff experience (both culturally and academically) and I felt his tip of $100.00 was justified.

Gwersyll yr Urdd Glan-llyn | | Taith Glan-llyn Blwyddyn 9, Gorffennaf 3-5ed o Orffennaf, 2024
Y nod i mi fel athrawes Gymraeg wrth drefnu’r daith yw meithrin balchder yn yr iaith, rhoi cyfle iddynt ddod i adnabod Cymru a deall hanes a diwylliant Cymru.Roeddwn hefyd eisiau creu cyfle i ddisgyblion ddefnyddio’r iaith meewn lle Cymreig y tu allan i’r dosbarth.
40 disgybl Blwyddyn 9 wedi mynychu, 5 athro.
Roedd un disgybl yn dost yn yr wythnos flaenorol ac yn methu mynychu
Cafwyd taith lwyddiannus iawn a phob disgybl yn ymroi’n dda i’r holl weithgareddau ac yn elwa o’r profiadau o aros dros nos ar daith breswyl.
Nifer o’r disgyblion eioes wedi cwblhau holiadur Llais y Dysgwr ar ddiwedd y daith ac roedd yr ymateb yn gadarnhaol iawn.
Roedd pob un wedi mwynhau’r cwrs a byddent yn ei argymell i eraill yn y dyfodol.
Dyma gyfle cyntaf llawer o’r dysgwyr i fynd i Ogledd Cymru.
Roeddent wedi mwynhau cyfleoedd i wneud gweithgareddau anturus awyr agored nad oeddent wedi cael llawer o gyfle i’w gwneud yn y gorffennol, fel cerdded afon neu padlfyrddio.
Bron pob disgybl wedi rhoi cynnig ar bron bob un o’r gweithgareddau.
Wedi dysgu mwy am hanes a diwylliant Cymru wrth ymweld â’r Ysgwrn a gweld lleoliad Capel Celyn, a chael cwrdd ag un o’r adwuron ar y cwrs TGAU sef Bethan Gwannas.
Bron pob un yn teimlo eu bod wedi siarad mwy o Gymraeg gyda’u cyfoedion ac wedi eu cymell i geisio defnyddio’r Gymraeg yn fwy cyson mewn sefyllfa gymdeithasol, ac roeddent yn dda yn defnyddio’r Gymraeg o fewn eu grwpiau gweithgareddau erbyn ailo ddiwrnod y cwrs.
Roedd ymddygiad pob un yn dda iawn, a byddwn yn hapus iawn i fynd a phob un ar daith yn y dyfodol.
Mae’r athrawon sy’n mynychu’r daith i gyd yn ymuno gyda’r gweithgareddau er mwyn annog y defnydd o’r iaith ymysg y disgyblion, er mai cyfrifoldeb yr hyfforddwyr yw’r gweithgareddau ac iechyd a diogelwch y gweithgaredd.
Caniatawyd 5 aelod o staff i fynychu - oherwydd gwahoddwyd athrawes a fydd yn dechrau dysgu yn Adran y Gymraeg, Ysgol Maes y Gwendraeth ym Medi 2024 ar y daith, ac oherwydd hynny roedd y lefel staffio’n dda - a olygai fod modd i ni roi 2 athro gyda grwp gweithgareddau oedd yn cynnwys 2 ddisgybl oedd ag asesiad risg unigol. Byddai cael un aelod ychwanegol yn sicr y rhwybeth i’w annog yn y dyfodol.
Teimlir fod mynychu’r daith wedi codi ymwybybyddiaeth dysgwyr o’u Cymreictod, ac wedi helpu i sefydlu arfer o gyfathrebu yn Gymraeg ymysg cyfoedion.
Eisoes trefnwyd dyddiadau ar gyfer cynnal taith arall yn Haf 2025, ar gyfer hyd at 48 disgybl. ( 2-4ydd o Orffennaf, 2025)
