The gentleman in charge of our educational workshop was incredible. He engaged with all the children and he happily answered all their questions. He was so knowledgeable about all the animals in the zoo. We thoroughly enjoyed his session. Good value for money. (December 2022 - Primary School)

For our current year group the venue was fully inclusive and accessible, if we had a child who was wheelchair bound, this would have posed a challenge due to the vast amount we walked. Even though the zoo itself is 100% accessible, the person pushing the wheelchair would have physically battled. The gentleman in charge of the educational workshop was incredible. Love the zoo, very cross curricular! The current local price offer is making it an affordable trip for parents for those of us that work in areas where their is a lot of poverty. However with the current cost of living crisis it would be nice to see this offer rolled out to other postcodes in beds and herts too! I am also not giving 5 stars due to the lack of someone to leave lunch bags - as it is heavy for little ones to carry around until lunchtime and also due to the lack of sheltered areas for two classes to sit and enjoy their lunch in inclement weather. Also really miss the discovery centre at the zoo for a rainy day activity and the crafts that used to go on there too. (April 2022 - Primary School)

We combined our Yr5 Science and geography learning for this trip. The pace of walking for several hours also ticked the box for exercise too! (April 2022 - Primary School)

was unable to go this year as they had capped the numbers for educational visitts due to Covid retrictions. Took them a long time to get back to us when we made enquiries about a visit a few weeks ago. (July 2021 - Secondary School)

The facilities were really good for a school trip, lots of toilets! There are presently only outside eating areas for schools but on a nice day it was wonderful. The staff at the zoo saw is in and their Covid safety is taken seriously and all adults are asked to scan the covid QR code. We had a lovely day and the adults and the children were ready for a sleep on the bus by the time we had been all around the zoo. (July 2021 - Primary School)

Beautiful site with a wide range of animals. The workshop was highly engaging and informative and very useful for Biology of animals scientific knowledge. The site was well organised and there were good safety measures and COVID protocols in place. (June 2021 - Secondary School)

(May 2020 - Secondary School)

Children learnt alot about endangered species, stroked a real python, felt real animal fur. Very interactive work shop (March 2020 - Primary School)

(February 2020)

On arrival, a member of ZSL was there to greet us and took us to the outdoor learning space ready for our workshop. Due to the low number of visitors at the zoo after the first workshop we received a free guided tour which linked to our topic on Big Cats! The workshops we attended were age appropriate and tied in well with previous learning. The staff were very accommodating and moved our day around which allowed the children time to have their fruit snack between the two workshops. (February 2020 - Primary School)
