It really brought history to life. The children could see how things had changed over time and experience different aspects of life. Staff there were wonderful at talking to the children about the past. (January 2024 - Primary School)

Great day out, need a day there ideally. Travelling by bus limits what you can do. Try to get there by 10am if using public transport to give a little extra time. (March 2023 - Secondary School)

Organising the trip was easy and simple. The employees who are in role are brilliant and know exactly who to speak to children to gain their interest and get them asking questions. School lessons was fantastic, although would be good if the teacher were even stricter! The only minor issue we had was upon arrival, with other schools arriving at the same time, it was really tricky to enter, but not sure how this could be better managed. (July 2019 - Primary School)

The children thoroughly enjoyed our visit. All of the staff were kind and helpful, providing the children with lots of useful and appropriate information for their age. When we booked the trip, I mentioned that we were studying crime and punishment and they were able to make sure that a police officer was available to talk to our children and answer their questions. The self guide packs were very helpful and informative so that we could lead our own groups easily. The children had great experiences in the mine and school too. (March 2019 - Primary School)

The Museum was extremely well organised and we had 6 guides in Victorian dress who led groups around the museum and engaged them with interesting talks throughout the day. Each shop then had a knowledgeable shop keeper to give more detailed information. The schoolroom experience was interactive and very well organised. (November 2018 - Secondary School)
