Would have liked if tours had activities/worksheets children could complete whilst going around as tours were only 30 minutes and other people could join the group. (November 2018 - Primary - Post No: 7543 )

Would have rated the visit as excellent however I think shaded areas for school groups to have lunch would improve the visit. (November 2018 - Primary - Post No: 7409 )

The range of experiences suit all children and staff were supportive and attentive throughout the day, even arranging for us to see the Princess in the tower when we were late due to a traffic problem. The children get so much out of the visit from seeing the impressive castle structure, learning about the materials it is made from, the people who lived in a castle and the weapons and armour that were used. The visit really helped to bring our topic to life and gave the children something to relate to so they could imagine what life was like. the presentation was excellent, although slightly cut short by our late arrival caused by issues with parking coaches and hold ups in the car parks(we were told we had to remain on the coach until it was parked.) We were told it was fine at the gate and that there was no issue, we had time to take the children to the toilets. Having done this, we were then told inside that our monarchy experience would be cut short due to the delay. This was not the message we received at the gate. The horrible history maze was a very scary part of the trip from a teachers point of view. The children are running off in all directions and it is very difficult to headcount. This is not helped by the fact that you are not given exclusive slot times and the general public and other schools were also in the maze. Avoid this part of the castle if poss. Also do not have a guided workshop at the end of your day because you will get a shortened talk. (January 2018 - Primary - Post No: 755 )

Fantastic educational day out for year 5/6 primary school children. (December 2017 - Primary - Post No: 107 )
