The itinerary had some issues, as the company had not thought about the distance between one activity and the next, and how this would impact the group. The food quality and portion sizes at the designated restaurants was disappointing and commented on by a number of students. There was confusion and a lack of awareness regarding Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten Free options which left students waiting for meals to be re prepared (March 2023 - Secondary School)

Excellent service throughout: very efficient communication during the preparation period and good support whilst on tour (March 2020 - Secondary School)

Communication was excellent, however the hotel we stayed at had a wedding going on which meant we couldn't use the games room on the night we got there. If we had known this is advance we would have stayed at the Disney Village later and planned in more events. The wedding also finished very late and there was some loud (and what seemed to be drunken) behaviour from some of the guests at around 2am which woke up myself, some of the students and even the bus driver. They really need to carefully consider what events they have on at the accomodation before booking student groups in. The lack of a "games room" made it more difficult for the students to blow off some steam before bed, which made getting them settled and to sleep a little harder. (March 2020 - Secondary School)

Very quick to respond to questions prior to the trip. Hotel fine throughout. Would recommend not having shared beds for students. Dinners adequate on first two evenings, and much better for last two dinners. Excellent itinerary, after significant intervention from DPN. Lack of communication from the rep at EST. LHR had to contact hotel directly one day before trip to get rooming arrangements despite asking for this for a week or more from EST who had told us they would provide this. A name change on passport was not mad despite it being asked for and paid for. LHR ended up doing a lot of the work EST should have done. Generally good. We had an issue with a restaurant booking - the restaurant took us in, fed us, then expected to us pay. I had a had a meal voucher, but they knew nothing about the booking. The tour itinerary was excellent: a good balance of activities and students learnt a lot from it. Our tour guide, Anya, was amazing. She was so helpful and in future I would recommend requesting her. The previous group attending in July had a bad experience using EST guides at Auschwitz but this time we had official Auschwitz guides: the teacher who attended in July reported that this worked much better. The hotel was suitable in that the rooms were of a good quality, the breakfasts provided lots of choice and they had our packed lunches ready each morning. It was also located conveniently near to the main square, which made getting to and from places easy to do. The only real qualm is actually quite a big one: despite being informed (and me checking in the days before) about students with allergies, the evening meal at the hotel on the first night had allergens in every course eg walnuts in the ice cream. They did cook an alternative (chips) but did not seem to know about the allergies. If I hadn’t have vetted every course beforehand they would have served this to the students. All other meals were fine though, as at breakfast they had choice and lunches were clearly labelled for students with allergies, who had slightly different things in theirs. We only ate one evening meal at the hotel. The airport guide offered to meet us 2 hours before departure but upon request kindly met us earlier. If we hadn't have met earlier there would not have been time to get through and leave space to buy some food at the airport so I would recommend this in future. In terms of the age range attending, I would say this was about right. I certainly wouldn’t take students any younger than year 10, but those who did come seemed to get a lot from it. Harry Potter tour was booked for an adult group which resulted in a delay in our entry with pupils forced to sit waiting on the bus for an hour. Thorpe Park closed at 4 and our itinerary had us arriving at 11.30 which is quite wasteful. The timing for food at Bubba Gumps at 5.30pm and then arrival at the theatre for a show at 7.30pm was very tight. The company's communication was particularly poor; once they'd had the money they were difficult to deal with and made little effort to help make adaptations to the trip. Harry Potter tickets were booked for an ADULT group which then meant an hour's delay at the location as they were not expecting 37 under 16s.
