About Us

European Study Tours has been organising school trips since 1982 and are proud to have become one of the leading educational tour operators specialising in tailor-made tours as well as high-quality subject specific student LIVE! conference events.

We Share Our Knowledge & Experience With You

We recognise what a huge responsibility teachers take when organising a school trip whether it be in the UK, Europe or Worldwide and we aim to make it as easy and straight forward a process as possible. While we are big enough to have all the necessary back-up you require as a teacher looking for financial security and safety credentials, we pride ourselves on being small enough to offer a personal, friendly and professional level of service that brings teachers back year after year.

We Take It Personally

Fundamentally we are passionate about travel. Who can forget their first school trip which may have sparked interests and passions that set young people off on their own career paths, whilst providing life-long memories and experiences. Research shows that taking young people out of the classroom not only raises their aspirations and engagement with their subject, but also promotes confidence, resilience and independence. Nothing pleases us more than hearing how one of our trips has inspired the next designer, politician or scientist!

Extensive feedback given to EST - feel like they did not really know Sicily too well, particularly the local area our hotel was situated in. (April 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 11430 )

The EST "rep" at Heathrow was ineffective and almost made us miss our flight. It was only thanks to the parent of a student on the trip( who works for British Airways) that we avoided being off-loaded (April 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 11277 )

A very well-organised educational visit, with excellent customer support. Notwithstanding this, a couple of issues arose (itinerary planning and food) which I would not have expected to be of concern given the relatively high price. (February 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 9598 )

Great at communications (February 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 9535 )

Generally good. We had an issue with a restaurant booking - the restaurant took us in, fed us, then expected to us pay. I had a had a meal voucher, but they knew nothing about the booking. I phoned the European study tours help line, and it was finally sorted. Half hour delay. We were also booked into a museum, on a day it was closed … (January 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 8835 )

Very smooth trip (November 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 7479 )

The tour itinerary was excellent: a good balance of activities and students learnt a lot from it. Our tour guide, Anya, was amazing. She was so helpful and in future I would recommend requesting her. The previous group attending in July had a bad experience using EST guides at Auschwitz but this time we had official Auschwitz guides: the teacher who attended in July reported that this worked much better. The hotel was suitable in that the rooms were of a good quality, the breakfasts provided lots of choice and they had our packed lunches ready each morning. It was also located conveniently near to the main square, which made getting to and from places easy to do. The only real qualm is actually quite a big one: despite being informed (and me checking in the days before) about students with allergies, the evening meal at the hotel on the first night had allergens in every course eg walnuts in the ice cream. They did cook an alternative (chips) but did not seem to know about the allergies. If I hadn’t have vetted every course beforehand they would have served this to the students. All other meals were fine though, as at breakfast they had choice and lunches were clearly labelled for students with allergies, who had slightly different things in theirs. We only ate one evening meal at the hotel. The airport guide offered to meet us 2 hours before departure but upon request kindly met us earlier. If we hadn't have met earlier there would not have been time to get through and leave space to buy some food at the airport so I would recommend this in future. In terms of the age range attending, I would say this was about right. I certainly wouldn’t take students any younger than year 10, but those who did come seemed to get a lot from it. Excellent organization as always, the speakers were also excellent and the event ran smoothly with no issues. (August 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 5827 )

The trip was excellent although the itinerary was not completely thought through, meaning some activities were a little too short. Guide was not with trip all the time as published. (July 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 5692 )

Harry Potter tour was booked for an adult group which resulted in a delay in our entry with pupils forced to sit waiting on the bus for an hour. Thorpe Park closed at 4 and our itinerary had us arriving at 11.30 which is quite wasteful. The timing for food at Bubba Gumps at 5.30pm and then arrival at the theatre for a show at 7.30pm was very tight. The company's communication was particularly poor; once they'd had the money they were difficult to deal with and made little effort to help make adaptations to the trip. Working with Holly 2 years ago was much better. (July 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 5083 )

Improvements to be made when communicating with school staff. Harry Potter tickets were booked for an ADULT group which then meant an hour's delay at the location as they were not expecting 37 under 16s. The information for the hotel rooms did not arrive until very late and we still couldn't access the room numbers at the hotel until we arrived. Thorpe Park was closing at 4 which meant that our itinerary's arrival time of 11.30 was somewhat disappointing. (July 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 4913 )

very poor at organising as 'forgot' to book our original flights. a lot of chaos afterwards with changing of flights. would not recommend. (June 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 4053 )

EST were very helpful and easy to communicate with. There was some surprising fluctuation with the price quotations which made it hard to finalise a price for students. (March 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 2142 )

EST are a very reliable and customer focused company who are always available for enquiries and keep in touch regarding changes etc very well. They are always available when on the trip and are always very helpful. (March 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 1748 )
