Hertfordshire Scouts - Phasels Wood Activity Centre | | Most of the activities were brilliant. Photo hunt was not a good activity.
There was a lot of waiting around time in between breakfast and the first activity and the last activity of the afternoon to dinner to then the last activity. The children struggled with such long stretches of waiting. The accommodation in Rowan was fine. Cedar's block was not nice e.g. torn curtains, horrible toilet, not enough toilets for the amount of children and too far away from the bedrooms so there were toileting accidents in the night, no shower facilities in the block. Half of the children got a nice experience in Rowan and half a horrible one in Cedars which wasn't really fair. We would have really appreciated a central person to welcome us on arrival as again there was a lot of waiting around and no one came to great us and tell us what to do. | 14 July 2024 |

NST Travel Group | | The NST is a great company to work with. Especially, I would like to thank you to Julie Price for her ongoing help and patience. David, our Iceland guide, is very knowledgeable person who took us through the journey of understanding tectonics, volcanoes, glaciers etc. Thank you!
The Hotel Cabin served its purposes. Its location next to sea is perfect; very comfortable beds (according to students) and the buffet style food was generally good. We had few students who complaint about food selection (e.g. missing chips or pizza) but everybody could find something to eat.
The driver called Conrad in Iceland - excellent and thank you!
The Westbus journey to and from the Heathrow:
Excellent driver called Vladimir who drive us to the Heathrow
Unfortunately, the only disappointment for us was almost 1 hour delay to get back from Heathrow to school. The driver was a bit grumpy which wasn't necessary for all my students and staff after such long day of travel.

Selly Manor | | Our Year 2 trip to Selly Manor was an absolute delight! The experience was both educational and engaging, providing our students with a wonderful opportunity to step back in time and explore history firsthand.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly by the knowledgeable and friendly staff. Their passion for history was evident and contagious, capturing the imaginations of our young learners right away. The guided tour was superb, filled with fascinating stories and interactive elements that kept the children captivated. They particularly loved dressing up in period costumes and trying their hand at traditional games and activities.
The manor itself is beautifully preserved and offers a fantastic glimpse into Tudor life. The rooms are meticulously maintained, each filled with interesting artifacts and displays that made history come alive for our students. It was evident that a lot of thought and care had gone into creating an immersive and educational experience.
One of the highlights of the trip was the hands-on workshop where the children had the chance to work in groups to make their own garden village. This not only reinforced what they had learned during the tour but also allowed them to express their creativity.
The facilities at Selly Manor were excellent, with clean, well-maintained restrooms. The gift shop was also a hit, offering a range of reasonably priced items that the children were excited to purchase as souvenirs.
Overall, our trip to Selly Manor was a resounding success. It provided an enriching experience that combined education with fun, leaving our Year 2 students with lasting memories and a deeper understanding of George Cadbury and Bournville. We would highly recommend Selly Manor to other schools looking for an engaging and educational outing. Thank you to everyone at Selly Manor for making our visit so special!
