Great to help put our class learning into context and bring it to life.

This was a very successful visit which the children thoroughly enjoyed. The day ran seamlessly as the staff at the museum were so organised.

This was an excellent day out where the children learnt about life in Anglo-Saxon and Viking times and how we know about it. They met costumed characters mourning the death of Thurweald, an Anglo-Saxon warrior. They worked on the following learning objectives. · Understand how primary sources are used to gather evidence about people's lives in the past · Engage children with museum objects as sources of inspiration, knowledge and exploration · Expand children's understanding of the origins of Anglo-Saxon and Viking beliefs and customs. The children’s learning was deepened and this was evident in their writing and history work when we came back to school.

Activities not in chronological order so led to confusion for the children.
