| Challenge Academy - Baggeridge Adventure Hub | Cancelled on the day of the trip as students were on the coach to leave despite us contacting the venue prior to the visit and receiving reassurance that notice would be given. We were told the conditions would be assessed in the morning however received notification half an hour before event was due to start at 9am. When queried was told they lost our contact number as this was provided on all correspondence and with the manager of the venue to check priority the event running including the day before. | 17 January 2024 | |

| Tamworth Snow Dome | Communication when booking wasn't great - I was led to believe that Snow Dome staff would be leading an ice-skating lesson, when in actual fact there were just staff on the ice, as you would expect at any public rink. The staff were very friendly and helpful when asked to do something, but didn't seem particularly proactive or prepared for a large group arriving at the same time. Getting boots given out, safety briefing and starting the session could have been much better organised and more efficient. When a group of 8 and 9 year olds, most of whom have never been on the ice before, are doing so for the first time it would be a good idea to have all of the available 'penguin' supports already on the ice, rather than waiting to see how they got on before getting them out. The trip definitely needed an experienced member of school staff to make it successful, but the children did get a huge amount from it, both in their understanding of what life is like for children in Norway and as a lesson in resilience and perseverance. They also absolutely loved the snow play session. For this reason, I would certainly go again, but with a greater number of staff who are prepared to get on the ice with the children. | Beaumanor Activities | Would be a 5 star review but for the accommodation. Absolutely fantastic activities, food and instructors. Cannot fault any of these.
