We used the course as a way of developing resilience and growth mindsets in a nS3 cohort (aged 13-14) (January 2024 - Secondary School)
Our Y5s visit OB to see 'nature in the raw' as we are a city-bound school. Our children get a chance to roam in the outdoors, understand risks and learn to prepare properly, assess risk, take personal responsibility, be resilient and the importance of teamwork and leadership. excitement and outdoor challenge (November 2023 - Primary School)
Great centre - very attentive and knowledgeable staff (October 2023 - Primary School)
Also recommended for general wellbeing, improved confidence, and respect for the natural environment. (April 2023 - Secondary School)
The level of care and competence at this Centre, and the Ullswater Centre is incredible. The highly skilled outdoor leaders plan and consider individual and group needs and provide brilliant challenge and stretch to children's PSHE and physical skills. There is flexibility to follow children's interests i.e. if they love swimming in the lake, and the days are not interrupted by needing to move to another activity (until supper time), so the children can really get engrossed in what they are doing. The children are challenged by the landscape, the activities and the weather and their resilience and confidence builds - it is great to see. (November 2022 - Primary School)
