Skibound are experienced providers of school ski trips. They delivered a good trip with appropriate admin and operational support to make it happen. The only issue was booking of flights was done without consultation so the choice of time and route was not optimal but these could not be changed, despite equally cost effective routes being available from non discount airlines with more convenient flight times and airports. So ski trip leaders/organisers should insist on consultation before commitment to purchasing flights in all future trips. (April 2024 - Secondary School)

SkiBound were excellent from start to finish and the trip went almost perfectly. We had a small issue at the airport on the return flight where the passenger list contained the wrong name of a student that had been replaced very late on (the outbound flight had been updated). There was no number to contact SkiBound on the weekend, but the assistance at Salzburg airport did have a number to call and were able to sort the issue quickly. (February 2024 - Secondary School)

A great trip, meeting all aims set.

Great trip had by all. Hotel was excellent as we had sole occupancy. Groupings worked well for travel, accommodation and ski groups. Staff to pupil ratio worked well, although we would possibly make the the group slightly smaller. (April 2023 - Primary School & Secondary School)

SkiBound are the preferred supplier to GDST for school ski trips so this was not a personal discretionary decision to use them. They are a competent and well run organisation. Pre-planning of trip via their head office was good with regular communication however there was a late notification of lesson times (1 week to go) and this did impact on the timings of theday on the slopes as we were informed lessons would start as lates 11am - with no choice to modify this. The delivery in resort is very much dependent on the local ski representative provided by SkiBound. We found the local rep to be competent but distant from the group. He also missed some logistical details (ski locker location in lift station) as the resort was unfamiliar to him. Overall experience of Skibound is good- but they could have made more effort to deliver evening programme- this was mainly driven by me as Ski Leader. (April 2023 - Secondary School)

The students had an amazing experience, all progressed in skiing extremely well, all took part in all activities. Staff were exceptional. Hotel superb, ski lessons extremely competent. Pre-departure arrangements caused a lot of additional work and stress by SkiBound, leading to us not recommending them as a provider for future trips (February 2023 - Secondary School)

There were a couple of issues with the venue including:
Food timings - particularly for those with dietary needs, their food was regularly served a considerable amount of time after the other students (often around 20 minutes)
No towels and not made aware of this before leaving
Staff were cleaning on the final day at 6am with loud music playing even though we weren't due to wake until 7am - antisocial.
On the other hand there were positives to be taken regarding the company:
Transfers between the airport and the resort were organised well.
Ski hire was in the hotel and any issues were quickly dealt with.
Ski reps Alex and Els were both very friendly and helpful.
Location for the slopes was excellent.

The rep assisting the trip was one step behind the tour at all times. Three of the six ski instructors weren't even level one qualified, my staff and I were doing most of the coaching for our students learning to ski. (March 2020 - Secondary School)

Overall, this was a fantastic trip for the students. The conditions were great, the food was super and the progress students made was exceptional!
However, the area we skied was not suitable for the students as the resort rep took us somewhere different to what was agreed on the pre visit. This was sorted on the 2nd day though and we were moved back to where we were supposed to be skiing. The hotel was dirty, but this was sorted after I spoke to the manager. The hot lunches were good, but, I have reported back to the company that the restaurants need to be lower down, particularly for the beginners within the group.
Overall, problems which did arise were sorted within 24hrs. I will 100% use this company again. (February 2020 - Secondary School)

Excellent instructors and knowledgeable rep. Problems in resort dealt with efficiently. Communication regarding room allocation very late (week of departure) which led to issues. Good company, just the coach company Gold Line/Kings Ferry Coaches had a bad experience on the return transfer in being stranded at Gatwick for 2 hours with no communication that they would be late picking us up. Sent a complaint letter to Skibound. (February 2019 - Secondary School)

Very helpful at the airport on departure, keeping ourselves informed about the delay to the flight. Hotel was excellent with fantastic food and a willingness to go beyond themselves to help us out. The ski company was as good as usual. The only problem was that they changed the carrier company and this meant an unnecessarily difficult outbound journey. The flight was delayed, we had to take bags off the plane then put them back on again and, with younger students this was not great.
