Selly Manor | | The staff were very knowledgeable and were happy to answer any of the children's questions. The buildings and interior was beautiful and the children were awestruck by the rooms they viewed. The children very much enjoyed the costumes and games sections and imagined themselves as the characters they may have been back in the Tudor period. | 01 May 2023 |

Blists Hill Victorian Town | | We had a fantastic day at Blists Hill, all the children thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were so informative and friendly. We particularly enjoyed dressing up as Victorians and going to the school house to be taught by Miss McCallum.
The children exchanged money for old money and enjoyed spending this in the shops and meeting the shop owners.

Jackfield Museum | | The children made a tile in the workshop and enjoyed this activity. We were able to have our lunch in a room adjacent to the workshop.
The museum was interesting but I think the information was aimed at adults. It would have been nice to have more hands on activities or some experts around to answer questions. | 30 April 2023 |

Colchester Zoo | | Lack of organised lunch storage made the process of dropping off and collecting these items too long. This resulted in us leaving the venue later than expected and being late back to school. The venue have no processes in order to support schools - no crates for storage/separation from other visiting schools.
For younger children, it is too large a venue to take everything in effectively - we rushed around in order to make the most of our time, bearing in mind how far we all had to walk in order to see as much as possible to make the trip worthwhile.
I do not think this is the best venue for younger children. | 29 April 2023 |

Field Studies Council - Epping Forest | | Quality of teaching from FSC was patchy. Many of the staff it was their second day. The instructions given to students were not clear, and the task was not gone over in the class rooms so students had no idea about how the methods linked to the research question or what the research question was.
One group couldnt go to one of the sites as their member of staff refused to walk down the hill.
Overall the experience of the FSC was poor contributing to us completing the fieldwork in house in future. In house will also be more cost effective.
