Description

When choosing a school trip provider we know that you are looking for three main things;

1) Educational value
2) A supportive and trustworthy team
3) Value for money

Discover the World Education ticks every box.

We have over 35 years’ experience organising inspirational and educational travel. Our customers trust us to supply safe, quality and exciting tours that are in equal parts academic and enjoyable for every member of the group. We have hand-picked and personally checked our destinations and activities thoroughly, to ensure that you have the trip of a lifetime!

Our family run business began with just one thing, a love for travel. This passion has never wavered as the business has grown.

Today, Discover the World Education has a team of dedicated travel specialists, including former teachers and destination experts, who help schools through the trip planning process and are on hand to support you 24/7 during your trip.

We offer a select range of destinations that have been truly tested by our specialists. Itineraries for these destinations can be tailor made with our range of activities and accommodation. We have the largest range of activities in our most popular destination, Iceland, including the exclusive Icelandic Lava Show.

We are proud of our role in the geography teaching community. We create a wide range of classroom resources, videos and posters, all of which are free to teachers. We also host the Facebook group Geography Teacher Zone, a platform to bridge the gap between topical geography news and the curriculum. Depending on your destination choice you may also be guided by one of our UK qualified and highly experienced Teacher Tour Leaders.

We work collaboratively with other members of the geography community. For example, we are strategic partnership with the Geographical Association to help to make the benefits of international field studies more accessible to geography students, both inside and outside the classroom and our partnership with the Field Studies Council to offer a brand new, exclusive range of geography and science fieldwork opportunities in Iceland.

Discover the World were excellent. Our flight was cancelled on Sunday due to severe weather conditions. Discover the World were contacted by the airline about moving us onto the earlier flight, they handled all the paperwork and their communication was brilliant. They also helped with contacting the coach company when a student had left their camera on the bus! Excellent company- will use them again. (November 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 17519 )

DTW were organised and kept completely in touch with me throughout the process. Their expertise allowed for a range of excursions which were tailored to our group. There were some issues with the check in at the airport (told be there for 3AM, when check in didn't open until 4am and the menus). (October 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 17108 )

Excellent service provided by Discover the World Education from the booking phase all the way to executing the trip. (October 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 17062 )

Excellent knowledge of Iceland to help plan an excellent itinerary for our four-night visit. Top quality guides who were flexible, extremely knowledgeable and engaging for our pupils. (May 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 11889 )

Excellent communication with the company, who worked very hard to ensure that the visit was suitable for the student we took in the wheelchair. The only disappointment with them was their lack on control on the finances where they issued a bill which was significantly under the amount it should have been and was only corrected when the trip leader discussed this with them. (April 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 11412 )

Provided an excellent service. The trip was well planned and all my pre-trip questions and queries were answered promptly. Very well organised when we were in Iceland - our tour guide and coach driver were fantastic. (April 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 11254 )

Perfect! (April 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 10845 )

Outstanding provider - level of service pre and during trip was exceptional. Guide (Henry) was brilliant and extremely knowledgeable about Geology. (March 2019 - Secondary - Post No: 10400 )

Discover the world was excellent. it is the 4th time of using them. They sent a teacher guide with us from the UK and she was fantastic and built up a lovely relationship with the students. the activities were brilliant and gave the students a varied experience of Iceland. Outstanding - from the planning through to the assistance whilst on the trip, they were excellent. (October 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 7294 )

Excellent organisation from the appointed contact. Very helpful. A full evaluation report is completed separately and submitted to the company. (October 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 7213 )

Very good (although not the cheapest on the market). The guide provided was very experienced, knew the area well and targeted the information he provided at the needs of the students. This was a big improvement on the previous experience I had four years ago. (October 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 6854 )

Excellent organisation and amazing guide (September 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 6339 )

Excellent service throughout before and during the visit (August 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 5900 )

Excellent support staff - with first-hand knowledge of Iceland who are able to offer advice on making the best itinerary etc. We've been 3 times to Iceland with Discover the World and each time they have been very good. (August 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 5858 )

(June 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 3768 )

We were pleased with the tour overall, but DTW could have been more helpful with regards to supporting us with compensation for the delayed flight and communicating with us in iceland. (May 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 3404 )

(April 2018 - Post No: 2891 )

(April 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 2603 )

Generally good but disappointing on peanut allergies at the airline official line is they will do nothing about this. The communication between the airline, DTW and school was a little weaker than I would ideally have liked. (April 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 2518 )

Very good organisation, value for money. (April 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 2396 )

Issues with airport transfer on last day which was late - nobody contactable on the emergency number so had to sort the issues out myself. Other than this - excellent - especially coach driver and guide (April 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 2305 )

Excellent! This is our second time travelling with DtheW and again they were fantastic both before, during and after our tour. (April 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 2304 )

Good service as always however felt the lack of Icelandic guides detracted from experience, but understand the reasons! Have highlighted from DTW the need to collage passport numbers essential to speed up checkin in UK otherwise recommend earlier arrival. (February 2018 - Secondary - Post No: 1350 )
