The children enjoyed the Victorian School experience, the people dressed up from the Victorian era, the candle dipping, the sweet shop and the fairground. However some of the experiences such as the mine, were closed. (May 2023 - Primary School)

We had a fantastic day at Blists Hill, all the children thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were so informative and friendly. We particularly enjoyed dressing up as Victorians and going to the school house to be taught by Miss McCallum. The children exchanged money for old money and enjoyed spending this in the shops and meeting the shop owners. (April 2023 - Primary School)

Communication was poor; the site was actually closed on the day and only a few staff were there to open things for us. Usually a great trip but we were not informed that the site was not fully open. (November 2022 - Primary School)

We did three workshops here that were all great. The candle dipping and printing were great practical ones. The school room experience in particular was excellent for a comparison to their own experience of school. We were well looked after by the staff who hosted us for the day as a school. Sadly the amusements were closed and we weren't informed of that ahead of time. (September 2022 - Primary School)

It was a wonderful place, with insightful staff, who were more than happy to help by talking to the children about the roles they were dressed up as. I just wish we had more time there. (September 2021 - Primary School)

Visit was a success. Children asked a lot of thoughtful questions (as commented on by staff at the Town). The 'room' supplied for lunch was too small and inadequate - so most children ended up eating outside in the cold. The school also wasn't fully open so next time would ring to ensure/book something for the day. (January 2019 - Primary School)

The Victorian Town is jam packed with exciting and interesting things for the children to do. There are a large number of spaces for Children to safely lunch together and get involved in self-directed group tasks. Blists Hill staff are fantastic, their commitment to the characters they play is impeccable. How engaging and informative their workshops are is a massive draw for future visits and we will as a school be highly recommending Blists Hill. (December 2017 - Primary School)
