| KidZania London | Great potential, albeit lacking in organisation once at the venue. There was a bomb scare at Westfield on the day we visited. The venue was evacuated promptly, but the majority of staff - especially the activity/job leaders - had little idea as to what to do. Furthermore, there was no introduction as to how the site works. E.g. that the children earn and spend money, how the credit cards work etc Nor were there any tour - e.g. where the toilets were. Nor that the children could feel confident to speak with anyone wearing a x t-shirt, or lanyard, where to go if lost/confused/scared etc. - what to happen if there was a fire alarm etc. Even a short discussion/video would have helped contextualise how the site works and provided further purpose. Lunches was also a disappointment. Members of the public sat in our reserved seating area but the Kidzania staff did nothing about it. After lunch, the staff wanted to leave our school’s belongings in the middle of the site, available to members of the public etc. We asked for our belongings to be moved somewhere safer, but this took 30 minutes and speaking to multiple members of staff. | 06 October 2021 | |
