Lovely venue and very knowledgeable education officer, students particularly enjoyed the greenhouses. The session we signed up for was 'Human impact on the environment' and although the talk we received was excellent and tied in with this theme, the activities that followed about adaptation and biomimicry did not fit in particularly well. It might be better to create some new activities that require less reading but are more engaging/investigative so that students explore the collection more thoroughly and are required to think more independently e.g. drawing features, identifying adaptations, suggesting ideas. (June 2024 - Secondary School)

It is a lovely venue but not too much for the children to do there. (June 2024 - Primary School)

(June 2023 - Secondary School)

We had Lauren Baker as our Educational Guide and point of contact. She was excellent. Very knowledgable about all aspects of botany and plants. Highly recommend the venue. (July 2022 - Secondary School)

Generous with their knowledge and time. A great trip. (October 2021 - Secondary School)

Excellent and informative sessions provided by the Botanic Garden, which all students appeared to enjoy. Pitched and paced at just the right level for our year 8 students. (October 2021 - Secondary School)

Students had an informative talk, were able to take part in activities and learn about the different plants and herbs. (September 2021 - Secondary School)

Fantastic and engaging educational workshop for KS1 - Roots, Shoots and Seeds. Beautiful grounds. Due to Covid restrictions, greenhouses still closed unfortunately. (June 2021 - Primary School)

The glass houses were full of life and it was good for the students to see the variety of plants throughout the season. It would be great to have a small tea room available (especially in the colder months). (January 2020 - Secondary School)

(July 2018 - Primary School)
