Field Studies Council - Amersham

Leading Provider of Geography and Science (Biology) Fieldwork

Description

FSC is a charity that aims to bring environmental understanding to all. We believe the more we know about and take inspiration from the world around us the more we can appreciate its needs and protect its diversity and beauty for future generations.

One of the many ways we do this is by providing well-designed, expertly delivered educational experiences for school groups, set in some of the UK's most stunning locations. Each year over 3,000 school groups, from key stage 1 to university level, visit our centres for geography or science (biology) fieldwork and cross-curricular environmental activity courses.

FSC's Amersham centre is located in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). FSC manages the centre and nature reserve on behalf of National Grid Transco. The 30 hectare site provides a mosaic of woodland, grassland and pond habitats for all ages to study.

(May 2022 - Primary School)

Nice setting. The children enjoyed participating in the activities and exploring the woods. (April 2022 - Primary School)

The venue had great facilities and was well organised. The children had a good day. I think there could have been another activity included in the day to keep things busy and moving. (April 2022 - Primary School & Secondary School)

The centre is in the middle of nowhere, underneath a massive pylon. Nothing special but the stuffed animals were fun! The whiteboard was quite swanky for FSC! (October 2021 - Secondary School)

(October 2021 - Secondary School)

Excellent subject knowledge, detailed resourcing, very clear on health and safety. (November 2019 - Secondary School)

(October 2019 - Secondary School)

Excellent tutor and resources (June 2019 - Secondary School)

(April 2019 - Secondary School)

Great tutors, a lovely environment and fantastic courses with plenty of engaging activities. (April 2019 - Primary School)
