| The Bushcraft Company - Boughton Woods | This was our first Ed Vis during the pandemic. We took our largest ever group of pupils to Bushcraft. Bushcraft Risk Assessments provided by The Bushcraft Company were extremely helpful in assisting us with our advance planning. The visit was full supervised by Bushcraft staff throughout and was as Covid safe as could be made. There were also 5 Westwood staff in attendance throughout the residential visit. We did have to make one complaint to Bushcraft whilst we were on the visit, the number and variety of activities was not what we had come to expect from Bushcraft, this was swiftly rectified after our complaint. the problem seemed to be due to a new site manager just not being fully au fait with usual practice | 28 September 2021 | |

| Boltby Trekking Centre | Boltby provides a safe welcoming environment. The 3 young people who over the last 3 weeks have been AH, HGS and KL have all really enjoyed the experience. For AH in particular it has given her the chance to recharge and re-engage with staff after some difficult periods. The staff at the centre are very welcoming and handle the young people in a brilliant consistent way that puts them at ease. KL recently attended a session after not being there for a long period of time. Prior visits resulted in him not even getting on a horse. Thursdays visit saw KL not only get on the horse but actually ride it. On getting off he was so please and excited at what he had achieved. | 27 September 2021 | |

| Laches Wood Outdoor Education Centre | We had an amazing few days at Laches Wood, most of the instructors really took time to understand our children and adapted their teaching techniques accordingly. It was a shame the children didn't do their jobs more frequently as we had done at Shugborough the previous year, and in future we would like the children to gather in their groups outside the dinner hall and go in as groups and stay seated until everyone has finished and then clear away. This happened at our last residential and we presumed this would be the same. We never made it clear that was what we wanted but will do next time. The accommodation was great apart from the fact that it was rather too warm. Especially the staff rooms that had no opening windows as the velux windows weren't working. A small price to pay for the memories made and self belief developed. One little boy who we only convinced on the day of the trip came for the first day, but didn't want to take part. Your instructor on the high ropes was simply awesome with him. By the end of the day he was at the top of the tower helping everyone and he came back the second day and stayed the night.
