Another successful visit that resulted in some wonderful written work back in the classroom - the children have ingrained memories now of life in Great Yarmouth through the comparison of the 1860s to 1960s. We participated in 3 different workshops. The children were able to learn about the 1st class, 2nd class and 3rd class passengers. They got to lay out a 1st class table, dance the waltz, learn morse code, understand what it was like to be a crew member and investigate who was aboard the Titanic on that fateful night. Very interactive day which the children (and adults!) enjoyed a great deal. The actors at the Museum were in character which was added to the experience and was overall a great success. This is only a small museum but our special needs secondary students found it very interesting. It won't hold their attention for more than a couple of hours so I would recommend having one of the talks or activities.
