| Hilltop Outdoor Centre | Centre was fantastic and very well organised. Staff well trained and activities ensured that all children were involved at all times. Two children (CSM and HK) with additional needs demonstrated some behaviours that could potentially mean it is unsafe to take them on future visits if the risks cannot be managed. These included: CSM- difficulty regulating demonstrated by screaming and shouting, aggression towards others, inability to listen to and follow instructions. HK- Refusals to engage, inability to follow instructions and absconding which required Team teach to manage. In addition to having 1:1 support, we were able to keep them safe at this centre by providing safe spaces to regulate, time away from activities, vehicle transport back to base during the off-site activity and adaptations to timings eg early bedtime, ability to leave the dining room once they finished eating, showering whilst others were on activities etc. | 27 February 2024 | |
