Skern Lodge | | Good activities, issues dealt with quickly, possible Year 6 trip in the future. | 20 June 2021 |
Barnstondale Centre | | Barnstondale had pleasant staff and we were well looked after. The instructors worked well with the children and were encouraging. The site has definitely improved since our last visit, and is secure. The organisation of parental drop off and pick ups was assisted by their staff and worked smoothly. The main reason it's 4/5 not 5/5 is that teh timetable we had been sent (with less than 36 hours to go) was changed while we were there , which then affected the places we'd been given on the site to use at designated times, which meant we then were left organising our time and location with the other schools present. | 20 June 2021 |

I would definitely recommend this educational visit. | 18 June 2021 |

Waterworld Festival Park | | It's a long journey to Stoke on Trent from Milton Keynes, but Waterworld itself was fun. It's pretty small so no fear of losing anyone! Not all of the rides were open simultaneously which was disappointing because they didn't have enough rubber rings. Considering the cost, this shouldn't happen. The wave machine was good. The rides themselves were not disappointing when they were open. The outside area was enjoyable as the jacuzzi was out there (sit in the sun). Everyone enjoyed the day very much. | 17 June 2021 |

PGL Liddington | | All outcomes of the trip were met. The children took part in a range of enrichment activities that helped to develop their character education and virtues, specifically their resilience, courage, independence and cooperation. The range of activities was good and most instructors were enthusiastic, fun and engaging, encouraging children to take risks and step outside of their comfort zone. The accomodation was clean, tidy and acessible and met the needs of our group well. Our leaders Mark and Amelie were flexible and on hand to solve problems throughout the trip.
Unfortunately, the communication and organisation from Liddington was quite poor. On arrival at the site, we were informed the our timings for each day were 30 minutes later. As a result, our activities were rushed and there was little to no down time for the children. To add to the time constraints, we were asked to return to our base (Ridgeway) in between every activity. This meant that we wasted a lot of time unnecessarily walking between bases, in turn, our activities were shorter and for some children this meant limited turns on activities such as abseiling or height limitations/restrictions on activities such as Jacob's Ladder. Some instructors clearly felt pressured by these time constraints and rushed through activities. As a result, some of children were not appropriately challenged or encouraged to take risks. Our group has particularly complex needs including physical disabilities, medical needs, autism and anxiety. Excessive walking in hot weather with no down time has significant implications for these children, some missed evening activities as they were simply too tired to continue.
Dietary requirements in our group were complex and EHPS staff visited the site previous to trip to discuss these needs. Despite this previsit, numerous emails and a meeting with the site chef, the food required for a child needing to be tube fed, was not prepared and ready in time for meals. For a child who also sufferers from autism this was an extremely stressful experience.
Food was varied at the site. For some meals, the site ran out of food such as mash potato on the sausage and mash evening and chicken burgers for our final lunch. This reduced the choice substantially and meant that our children had chips with every evening meal.
Despite providing a room plan, bedding was not provided in all rooms and we had no hot water for the first day and half of our trip. These problems however were sorted quickly and efficiently. | 15 June 2021 |

PGL Liddington | | Outcomes of our visit were met. All children took part in engaging activities which encouraged resilience, independence and resilience. The children thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Communication and organisation from Liddington could be improved. Our itinerary and schedule for each day was altered on arrival consequently leaving less time for activities. Our days felt a very rushed with very little down time for the children. Excessive and in some cases unnecessary walking between activities was tiring for a group with additional needs. Dietary requirements were not met adequately and the site ran out of certain foods during our stay meaning our options were limited. Most instructors were enthusiastic and challenged the children, encouraging them to step outside of their comfort zones however some were too preoccupied with time constraints and this limited the children's experiences. Additional larger harnesses were required and were not provided, these needed to be asked for at each activity and a disability harness could not be used due to it not passing an inspection. | 15 June 2021 |
