The Bali school trip would be an excellent experience for secondary school students, combining education, adventure and cultural understanding. Visiting a local school and helping to build toilets would be particularly useful for Geography, as students could learn about development, sanitation, living conditions and differences between countries. It would also link well with PSHE/Citizenship, encouraging students to think about community, inequality and volunteering. Walking up a volcano would be ideal for Geography and Science, allowing students to experience volcanic landscapes, tectonic activity and the effects of erosion first-hand. The trip could also support PE, as the hike requires fitness, teamwork and resilience. Overall, the trip would suit a wide range of subjects, especially Geography, Science, PE and PSHE/Citizenship, while giving students a valuable opportunity to experience a different culture and develop independence.
