The Nell Bank Charitable Trust is an award winning charity, holding the Kings Award for Voluntary Service.
The centre provides day and residential outdoor learning experiences for schools, families and community groups. Additionally the trust specialises in outdoor learning provision for special schools and families with SEND children (special educational Needs and Disabilities).
Programmes for school children are the core of the offer in term time.
At weekends and in school holidays the Trust provides short break weekends and activity days for both families and community organisations that support children.
The trust delivers a programme of popular fundraising events for local families which are then replicated free of charge for families from deprived communities.
A key piece of work undertaken by the volunteers is to fundraise and administrate the Assisted Places scheme which provides subsidies for children whose families are facing financial hardship and for whom cost may be a barrier to visiting the centre.

The staff were knowledgeable and passionate about history. They took care of everything leaving the class teacher and school staff to support the children and focus on behaviour management. The trip was accessible and had wheelchair ramps, wheelchair transport and disabled toilets and a medical room with changing beds that were suitable from children to adults.

Brilliant knowledge of Rivers and surrounding areas. Children were engaged throughout and the group lead from Nellbank, Tricia, formed excellent relations with the children - mutual respect was shown and good learning took place.
