From a staff perspective the trip went to plan. We were met at Birmingham airport and supported through the check in process. The flight went without a hitch and our luggage arrived at the other end. Using the metro and walking around Madrid was also useful. It meant that we could hop on the metro if the walking became too much although we averaged 17,000 steps each day. The Hostel was ideal for the trip, it was in a central enough location to be near places of interest and was near enough different metro lines to get us where we needed to go. It was also out of the centre so that we were able to get a good night's sleep. The hostel was also secure, clean and well maintained and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was help yourself so students could eat as much as they wanted to get them through to lunch. The locations for evening meal: La Catedral and Fresco were also ideal for the trip. Although they were not next door to the hostel it meant that we could continue our sightseeing in the central area of Madrid and then eat and then return to the hostel for the night. The pre-booked activities went to plan and we had no problems with the Reina Sofia Art Gallery or the restaurants. Fresco were able to accommodate us when we asked to move our meal time forward by an hour on the last evening which saved us waiting around. Return flights went according to plan and we arrived in Birmingham 10 minutes early. We adjusted our plan to remove some of the activities that did not meet ourtime constraints - we did not go up the tower at Moncloa and instead gave the students some rest time in their room before walking down to the restaurant on Thursday night. We also did not go to the cinema on Saturday evening. This was mainly due to the fact that there wasn't any appropriate films on so we adjusted our plans to fill the time.

A very competitive price and the organisation was fantastic. Unfortunately, we didn't get to visit the underground caves at Arras which were in the original quotation as they were fully booked.

The trip, including the itinerary for the whole four days was designed by me- I asked NST to make bookings as per my plan- it was was well planned by me- I was the person responsible for the group in terms of touring the city. NST were an excellent company to use, the bookings were all made and the transport all pre-booked. Tour guiding once in Florence was me and my staff team from St. George's School.

The hotel is 'adequate', otherwise the trip locations and venues are all excellent.

NST travel were quite difficult to work with as they would be quite sporadic in reply to emails. Alot of the information that they sent across (Driver's phone numbers, Timings) were wrong. The accommodation was okay as it was a PGL centre however if I were to go again, I would look for different accommodation as this one was very staff lead (PGL Staff) and they were quite disorganised regarding timings (Breakfast)

It's really worth a visit and essential for Sixth Form German and useful for those studying the Cold War. The visits to religious sites added an extra element.
