Warren Barn Residential Centre

Warren Barn is a converted linhay and threshing barn located in the grounds of Cockington Country Park close to Torquay. The centre and park is managed by Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust, a charity which looks after 1800 acres of land across Torbay in South Devon. The barn lies in a secluded wooded valley, close to Cockington Village, surrounded by 450 acres of country park, which makes it the ideal base for coastal and countryside residential visits The Barn sleeps up to 36 in 2 dorms and has two staff bedrooms, one of which is downstairs and doubles as a disabled bedroom with an attached toilet/shower. The ground floor is wheelchair friendly but the upstairs is not fully accessible due to the nature of the building. Activity Packages We offer a range of exciting packages which include activities organised and run by our experienced rangers. The English Riviera Geopark offers an amazing variety of opportunities for inspirational activities and experiences. For more details on each activity package please see individual package information pages. We offer 3 types of stays for groups: 1. Monday to Friday 4 nights 2. Monday to Friday 4 nights split 2 + 2 3. Weekends Friday to Sunday 2 or 3 nights The pre-planned package options include 6 activity sessions organised and led by Trust staff, including one evening session. To keep costs down on the 4 night package one day can be left free for self-led visits or activities. You can book accommodation only but not in the summer term. Our education rangers have extensive experience running our wide range of exciting environmental education activities at many of our beautiful sites across Torbay. All our activities are fully risk assessed and conform to the guidance set out by Torbay and Devon LEAs. Most activities are half a day and last 2 to 3 hours. Many activities can be linked to the national curriculum if required. We are able to tailor activities to Key Stages 2, 3 or 4 within certain restraints such as weather, season, tide times and staffing availability.
