On the slopes of the Cader Idris mountain range and set in its own wooded ravine, YHA Kings offers excellent accommodation for families and groups, available throughout the year. This part of the Snowdonia National Park is a fantastic retreat for fans of outdoor pursuits, with plenty of scenery to take your breath away. The hostel is located close to the world class mountain bike centre at Coed-y-Brenin – which is brilliant for walks and trail running. Nearby is the famous Port Meirion village and the National White Water Rafting centre near Lake Bala, a must for watersports enthusiasts. The new attractions at Blaenau Ffestiniog including Antur Stiniog (MTB) the ‘Bounce Below’ underground trampolines and quarry zip wires are perfect for adrenalin fuelled adventures. The hostel is the ideal base from which to summit Cader Idris and to walk, run, or cycle the popular Mawddach estuary trail, both can be accessed directly from the hostel grounds. This 42 bed Youth Hostel has a selection of dorm rooms and private rooms, some of which are en-suite. There is no TV or mobile phone signal at the hostel, making YHA Kings a fantastic ‘get away from it all’ location! There’s a full range of shops and amenities five miles away in Dolgellau.
