The children had a great time but the Zoo mixed up our times for the led sessions and therefore we wasted time. They did apologise as they had not sent an email to let us know the change in times but, as time is limited on the day, it reduced how much time we then had to visit the animals.

The trip was linked to our Science topic, Living Things and Their Habitats, and gave the children a wonderful opportunity to observe animals in environments that reflect their natural habitats. As they explored the zoo, they made connections between animals and the regions they come from, supporting their Geography learning too.

Very well organised. The Key stage 2 adaptations workshop was excellent.

The trip was more successful because the zoo was quiet due to it being on VE day. Consider going at a different time of year depending on project.

The zoo is a great venue that suits all ages. There is much that children can learn there and links that can be made with many areas of the curriculum.
