Loved the David Attenborough show and, of course, the dinosaurs!

Prepare for crowds and arrive early to avoid long lines

Loads of curriculum links for our Year 6s - classification and evolution in Science and earthquakes and volcanoes in Geography. We booked the new David Attenborough - Our Story cinematic experience which was stunning (and only £4 per pupil). Be aware that the museum is exceptionally busy.

A wonderful venue, a lot of artefacts and interesting information. Too much to do in a couple of hours; if bringing a bigger group, you might want to plan ahead the foci for all learners, gauge the interest areas. It can be a bit daunting with big crowds, but we all had a great time. What I found really useful was the lower-ground picnic area which you can book ahead for a 25 minute slot for big numbers of students - this has saved us the trouble of finding a space to eat in a big city.

The NHM is well set up for KS2 children. There have an area for bag storage and children to eat lunch and a large number of toilets. The staff in this zone are really helpful. We attended the evolution workshop. This was linked to our curriculum but not as exciting or engaging as previous workshops. I would still prefer the Mission to Mars if possible.

Super - so much for the children to see and do. All exhibits were clean and working.

Took part in a Dino Dig workshop at cost of £3 per child. Very good and linked closely to learning, children thoroughly enjoyed it as well as walking around the museum afterwards.

A great venue, well-led workshops. Quite busy during lunchtimes but there is a system in place to ensure everyone gets a slot.
