We are Field Studies Council, an environmental charity and leaders in outdoor education. We want to inspire your pupils with innovative teaching, and explore diverse learning environments together, to encourage them to care for our natural world.
Located on the Isle of Cumbrae on the Firth of Clyde, Field Studies Council Millport has a rich history as a marine research station. Since becoming a field centre, purpose-built accommodation and teaching spaces have been created to provide an excellent base for a range of courses.
The magical island of Cumbrae is set just off the western shore of mainland Scotland. It looks out over the Firth of Clyde and other Clyde Sea islands, including the stunning Isle of Arran.
Despite being on an island, there are excellent ferry, road, rail, and air connections. It is remarkably accessible, at just 1 hour from Glasgow.
Millport Field Centre itself has great eco credentials with a biomass boiler, a green roof and sensor lights in all en-suite bathrooms.
Let our education team help transform your classroom theory into real subject knowledge, and harness the adventure found in nature, through hands-on experiences. We live and breathe outdoor education, and want to share our passion with your pupils.
