Ultimately the trip was a success. The students thoroughly enjoyed it and we got to see somoe of the worlds best Art galleries and cultural spaces. New York has a wow factor which meant the trip ran - euroopean ones are harder to fill. However, I have my worries of New York and Im in tewo minds about going back there again. 1) its very expensive given the amount of time we spend actually on the trip. 2) it leaves the staff and student exausted when we get back due to Jet lag. 3) the very central Hotel in Times Sqaure was fine, it allowed us access to most venues we needed to get to. But is didnt allow us to relax, we were out of the door and into crazy busy locations from the get go. The food was next door in the ascociated restaurant, the food there was fine. We had a few issues with air con and a room not being cleaned before we arrived. It took a couple of nights before this was sorted. Not good. If I were to go again, I would take a day or two off college at the beginning of the half term holiday and be back with time to still have a time off. The trip is very full on and coing straight back to college was too much. Access to such incredible visuals is just amazing and if we had in hindsight planned out excursions better we might have been a little less exhausted. The travel company were generally good. especially before we went.
