Set within the old royal hunting forest of Rockingham, Boughton Woods offer large areas of ancient woodland where pupils will become fully immersed in the natural world.
Settling into the wilderness woodland environment, your students will have an immersive experience in the great outdoors. After you arrive on camp on day one, you’ll jump straight into the first fun activity of the day. Each day you’ll move between activities that test different skills as well as exploring the stunning woods that are your home for the duration of the trip.
Punctuated by meals and snack breaks, you’ll stay well energised for all the activities that are on offer. Evenings will be filled with fun and games as well as hot chocolates and s’mores around the campfire. Students and teacher alike sleep in bell tents that are situated round a central yurt. From arrival to departure, our residential trips are packed with adventure.

The Bushcraft staff were amazing and the students had great fun. The toilet per student ratio was low, and the toilets and shower need upgrading. Conditions were not great. Food was ok, but it would be helpful if a bit of salt and pepper were added to the food or be made available for those who need it. Based on my observation and the observation of my team, the Bushcraft staff seem to lack safeguarding training similar to what teachers receive. I thing that this would be useful for the Bushcraft staff, seeing that they regularly interact with students. Overall, the trip was good.

This residential was really engaging and gave the students a real opportunity to try out things they had not done before.
