What’s included in a School Trip to Go Ape?

Every school trip is different and tailored to meet your learning objectives. However, our most popular trip includes a treetop experience and a ground based game.

Do you have risk assessments for a School Trip?

Yes, you can find all our risk assessments on our Go Ape Terms and Policies page.

What if I can’t see any availability for our chosen date?

We may still be able to accommodate you. School trips can often be made on days when we’re not usual open. Please get in touch and our specialist event planners will be able to help.

How much does a school trip cost?

Do you require a deposit?

A 25% deposit is required to reserve your adventure. Full payment is then required 10 working days before your event date.

What should I wear?

  1. Dress for the weather to stay warm and dry.
  2. Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes are essential (trainers recommended). No sandals.
  3. No bare waists for harness safety and comfort.
  4. Gloves are recommended (available for purchase at the cabin).
  5. Phone pouches are required if you wish to take photos of your adventure (available for purchase at the cabin).
  6. Sunscreen and a sunhat if it's sunny.
  7. Eat and drink beforehand to fuel your adventure!

What happens in bad weather?

Go Ape is an excellent wet weather activity. Our courses are substantially sheltered from rain and wind by the trees themselves so as long as you’re appropriately dressed for the weather you should still have great memories of your experience. The course remains open in all weathers, except thick ice, thunderstorms and gales. Rain makes the course muddier than usual – which can add to the fun, but you might want dry clothes to change into for the journey home.

If we have to close for unsafe weather conditions, we will offer you a refund, credit note or reschedule your booking. If unsafe weather is forecasted we will aim to make the decision as early as possible, and will do our best to contact you to try and save you a wasted journey.

A student needs additional support

At Go Ape, we welcome everyone. However, whilst our courses are designed to be accessible to most people, they do offer a degree of physical and mental challenge.

For some, this may mean that additional equipment, adjustments to our training, and/or levels of supervision will be required for safe participation. For others, the risks of injury may still be too great despite taking such additional measures, preventing their use of the course.

Please read the additional information available on our accessibility page and call our booking team to discuss requirements before booking your adventure so we can ensure you will be safe and have the best experience possible. It may be useful to book a quieter time of the day to ensure you are not put under unnecessary pressure by other participants on the day. We can help with all this.
