We had a great and interactive learning experience at the museum. It was a compact site which managed to cram a lot in. Pupils were all provided with costumes which was amazing as it meant all pupils were equal and we did not have to travel to the venue in full Victorian regalia. The Victorian lesson was perfect as it captured the strict Victorian spirit without being overly terrifying. The pupils selected for 'caning' were delighted with the experience and the museum really took our needs into consideration by having us nominate pupils for this in advance and having good safeguarding systems and systems to support SEND learners who may not understand or enjoy the role-playing. The tour of the Victorian headmaster's house was also excellent with many opportunities for pupils to ask questions to learn more about Vicotrian life and to really feel immersed in history.
