The Canal & River Trust is the charity who look after and bring to life 2,000 miles of waterways, because we believe that life is better by water. 'Explorers' is the Trust's education programme aimed at schools or groups working with children aged 5-11. We inspire children's learning by connecting them to our canals and rivers. Each canal and river is unique and offers powerful ways to engage children and bring learning to life. Our learning programme is closely linked to the national curriculum and group badges. Due to poor weather, the trip was cancelled by the Canal and River Trust. All children stayed in school.

Canoeing activity did not take place. On arrival at Finsley Gate Wharf, the weather conditions were poor and the Canal and River Trust did not feel it viable to run the water based activity. All children participated in the classroom activities.
