We used this visit as the hook for our new Talk 4 writing unit on Stickman. We made our own stickman then we took him out into the surrounding woodlands and quarry site to act out the story whilst it was being read to us by the Austerfield staff. All children were fully engaged and emersed in the story. During the afternnon session we explored 'wild art'. Developing our work on our artist this half term - Andy Goldworthy. Children experimented with different natural materials that they found to create their own pieces of art. As well as leaf rubbing, collecting pieces of natural materials to create a colour pallette the children created a class mandala pattern.
