The staff were very accomodating and worked hard to ensure all adults and children were happy, with excellent food and suitable activities. The house itself was quite dirty in some areas, with cobwebs, dirty floors and some mouldy food found under beds. In one of the staff bedrooms was a distinct smell of mould and damp, which meant the member of staff had to sleep elsewhere the next night.

Whitwell is great for outdoor learning, enjoying the outdoors, team building, learning new skills.

Organisation of the time table of activities took too long to come through to us. Activities mostly well organised although the orienteering route did not have a clear path meaning the children had to walk through a lot of stinging nettles and branches. Pottery, boat building, kayaking, fire lighting were the most popular activities with the children.
