Suitable for pre school, EYFS, KS1 & KS2 children, our education programme not only supports Food, Farming and STEM delivery in schools, but offers a unique experience where children can enjoy a fun day out, taking part in activities that enhance learning, mental health and wellbeing along with environmental awareness. We are the ideal outdoor classroom, and our specialist team are dedicated to creating fun interactive school visits that are curriculum linked. The programme offers a unique hands on cookery workshops, which really brings the field to fork story together. Schools can choose from our fully immersed Guided visits https://www.barleylands.co.uk/schools/guided-visits-schools-barleylands-2/ or can choose a less structured self guided visit https://www.barleylands.co.uk/schools/self-guided-visits/ which is ideally suited pre school and nursery children. For families, it really is great free range family fun at Barleylands, with so many things to do. From meeting our farmyard friends, taking a tractor and trailer ride and jumping on our huge bouncy pillow, to watching magnificent bird of prey shows, having fun in our indoor ball blasting arena or enjoying Afternoon Tea at our on-site Tiptree Tearoom and Cafe, there is something for everyone. Next to Barleylands Farm Park, you will also discover The Village at Barleylands. The Village is known for shopping, crafting, dining, enjoy some of the best independently owned businesses in Essex. We offer both guided and self-guided educational visits to our Farm Park, and more recently we can now visit your school too! More information on this can be found on our website and in the FAQ below 'visits to your School'.
In summary, Self-Guided Visits offer great value and a less formally structured day where you can enjoy the daily activities in the Farm Park, make use of our indoor and outdoor play areas.
There's a whole range of days and sessions that can be arranged when booking a Guided Visit, such as children understanding where and how food is grown to then use these ingredients to get hands on in the kitchen - this is our famous 'Field to Fork' day. Please take a look on our website for all of our Guided Visits.

An exciting new offering for Academic Year '24/'25, Barleylands Education team can now visit your School. Browse our Workshops and Displays (we have also indicated the Key Stage that would be ideal, however these can be tailored to any age group).
