Explore food, farming and nature on a working organic estate!
Bring your class to Bore Place for a hands-on learning experience exploring where food comes from and how it can be grown in harmony with the natural world. Our 500-acre organic estate in the heart of the Kent countryside - just an hour from London - provides a great opportunity to connect curriculum learning with real-world sustainability, and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
Pupils will discover the principles of organic farming, learn about seasonality, and explore vegetable growing in our productive market garden. They'll investigate nature and habitats across our diverse estate and can even take part in real-life citizen science activities.

There are five themed programmes to choose from:
Each is linked to KS1 or KS2 curriculum objectives, covering topics such as food chains, habitats, plant life cycles, healthy eating, and teamwork.
Activities vary by season and the natural resources available on the day.
Visits are charged on a group basis for up to 30 children, with no charge for accompanying adults. Bore Place is committed to being an affordable venue, and a discretionary subsidised rate is available for small-class state schools and classes with a high proportion of pupils receiving pupil premium - just get in touch to enquire.
Day visits are available on most Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays throughout the year. Programmes are designed for a class of up to 30 pupils.
If you'd like to bring two classes on the same day (up to 60 pupils), this can often be accommodated on a Friday.
Absolutely. The tutor team has experience working with children and young people with SEN, and all programmes can be adapted to meet a range of needs. Most activities are suitable, or adaptable, for wheelchair users and visitors with limited mobility.
The maximum group size for an SEN visit is 20 pupils, though this depends on the specific needs of the group - please contact the team to discuss arrangements beforehand.

The students learn so much when they visit Bore Place. Today the students learnt about animal tracking and signs as well as team building activities and mindfulness exercises.
Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience - we love getting children outside and exploring!
