We have lots of outdoor picnic areas around the park ideal for taking a break at lunchtime. A large undercover picnic area can be found at the Pyramid tent near Into Africa! Extra indoor seating is available by the classrooms in the courtyard using the Safari Shop entrance. This indoor area is available on a first come first served basis and must be cleared and tidied by the group after use.

Some pathways are narrow, and others have a one-way system in place which are not suitable for large groups. We are asking all visitors to the park to be mindful of others during their visit. Please use your free adult ratios wisely to do this.
Many toilets are available as you first enter the park, which are more suitable for larger school groups. These are located within the Monkey Play House. A member of the team can direct you upon entry.
There is a accessible toilet available in the Safari café toilets in the courtyard with a hoist facility.

EXcellent trip to tie in with Animals and their Habitats and Science curriculum.
23rd Jan 2025
The education department are excellent and communicated clearly throughout all the planning of the visit. The workshop was perfect for our learning about the polar regions, it was interactive and the children were engaged throughout. The children were able to see lots of animals on our visit and the polar bears were the highlight at Project Polar. The education team met us at the gates and the day ran smoothly. The children really enjoyed their visit and we have had lots of positive comments from childre, accompanying adults and parents.

Used as reward trip for attendance.

Prior to the visit, contact with the park was excellent, whether by phone or e-mails. We were greeted upon arrival by a member of staff and everything was well-organised. We had booked a classification workshop which perfectly matched our Science curriculum (as planned) We had also linked the visit to our English unit, planning and writing a balanced argument about whether animals should be kept at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. The children greatly enjoyed their visit and there is a great variety of animals to view. The park is well laid-out with plenty of outdoor picnic areas. We have visited before and will most definitely return in the future.

You really do need a full school day for this trip, if not longer. The children enjoyed being in the outdoors and seeing real animals.
