Ufton Court Educational Trust

Freedom to flourish outside the classroom

Description

Ufton Court is a leading provider of history and outdoor learning trips in South East England for primary schools, voluntary and community groups for children. We offer a wide range of exciting and immersive History school trips, from day visits to 1-4 night school residential trips, that are linked to the KS1 and KS2 history curriculum, as well as a range of both day visits and residential Outdoor Learning trips.

Set in 44-acres of ancient woodland, the grounds of Ufton Court include a Viking long ship, Celtic settlement, medieval ponds and Tudor Manor House complete with secret priest holes, which support our emphasis on hands-on, creative and interactive learning. On Ufton History school trips, children are immersed in the past. Whether exploring the Grade 1 Tudor Manor House, learning about Boudicca in the Celtic Roundhouse or curing a cursed field as a Saxon, all our activities use the unique resources at our disposal to inspire and engage your group.

Each historical programme follows its own story line – perhaps your children will become part of the Saxon Readingas settlers or a Tudor Petty Constable investigating strange goings on at the allegedly Catholic Manor.

As well as high-quality historical education, schools can also book our Ufton Outdoors day visit and residential trip programmes including Bushcraft Adventures and Outdoor Challenge. Ufton Outdoors programmes have been designed to help children build skills such as team-building, leadership and confidence, develop their knowledge of and care for the natural world and the environment, whilst experiencing the benefits of being outdoors on their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

We harness exciting and engaging activities, which can be encompassed within a historical programme or formed into a stand-alone visit, to ultimately inspire a sense of awe and wonder for the natural world around them.
