Everyone had great fun, but beware of the queues, some were up to 90mins. So advise to go to rides you most want to do first. You can apply for ride access pass for those who find queuing difficult due to a physical disability or other need. You can do this on the day, but you need to provide a letter of proof. We did not use the workshops. Park was extremely busy on arrival - perhaps they should stagger the entry and start a little earlier for schools at 9am rather than 10, allowing easier access to some rides. Parking and support from coach to entrance good, just busy and 20 min plus to wait to gain entry. Communication with park pre-visit was sporadic although Alice was great in school trips dept - told this was due to backlog of trips due to pandemic. (July 2022)

The queues for rides were so long that students could only go on a maximum of two of the big rides and each took around 90 minutes to 120 minutes to go on. 5 children couldn't attend last minute due to COVID bubbles closing, and Thorp Park wouldn't do anything to support the school with refunds or reissuing new tickets. I would recommend that more staff came on the trip to increase the ration. The reason being that we were eligible for Fast Track as we are a SEMH Provision. This meant that the student were not able to go off on their own. (June 2021 - Secondary School)

Although it seems most of the students had an enjoyable day, there were some things that proved unhelpful which were different to our last visit (possibly because of Covid). There was a very long queue to even get through security and the turnstiles and very little done to accommodate school groups (no separate entrance). By the time the students got through the turnstiles after 50 minutes of queuing, they were impatient to get going and reluctant to wait to do the proper register once inside - however I will let future visit leaders going on this trip from our school that group leaders should hold onto students tickets until after the security. One member of staff asked students to wear masks whilst queueing as we were so close together, but it was impossible to social distance (although I appreciate there are limitations to what staff can do). The dome area had changed since my last visit and was the meeting point, but no seating area was available, which made it difficult for staff. I will let future group leaders know that there is a picnic bench area not far away, which will be a better place to have staff seated throughout the visit. Our trip was marred by some students arriving very late at the end of the day. Initially we had been told the park was open until 5, and so the meeting time was 4:45, and we expected that a few students might straggle back a few minutes late, however, Thorpe Park then advertised staying open until 6, but it was too late for us to amend details and confirm permission with all parents, so the students felt like they were missing out on time - had we known, we would have asked them to meet us at 5:45. Despite pre-ordering and paying for our tickets, queues to collect these tickets took almost 90 minutes. As a youth group we had been originally advised to collect from the schools entrance but on arrival were turned away to the main queues for tickets. Once inside we had to collect fast passes, which also took almost an hour to collect and assign to young people. Welcome/arrival could be managed better. Arrival form should be given to lead teacher in advance to allow completion prior to arrival at venue - no time to complete in detail so therefore not useful. Adult and student tickets should be separated. Ticket collection "tent" should be much closer to coach park - much time wasted walking all the way to the entrance and back again to distribute tickets to staff and students. Wheelchair - need to book beforehand as there were none available on the day. Queue exemption cards - individuals need medical evidence (i.e. doctors note, x-ray, report etc) in order to get a queue pass.
