It is an outdoor activity site with camping and a wide range of outdoor pursuits. We only used it for camping but there was a very wide range of activities on offer and there were many brownie and guide groups using the facilities over the weekend. (June 2023 - Secondary School)

The instructors and staff were really helpful and generous but the site is clearly in need of some investment and feels very tired and run down. Some of the activities were not really fit for purpose any more. (October 2021 - Primary School)

Blacklands are an excellent provider. We have used them for our DofE expeditions for over 10 years now and they have always provided clear communication and flexibility. The staff there are great! (July 2021 - Secondary School)

*Not value for money. Wasn't worth a £20 day out including coach. * Staff left us to get on with it - no courtesy check in during the day. *On recce and contact they were however incredibly helpful. *Orienteering and Own and Dinosaur hunt, left to get on with and not appropriate for Year 3. *Orienteering - Staff also expected to know what to do and where to go, for staff picking this is up it's not the easiest to just get on with. *Recce - Found stinging nettles and holly bushes where children walk. Also plenty of uneven ground and stony ground for trips and falls. *Post Recce - Notified coach company. Bridge on Turners Road allowed 16.3 ft height. Coach company took main route in as advised. *Taps - Didn't work, luckily school staff carried hand gel before lunch. *Toilet - Promised would be unlocked to use, only the main toilets by the office were open. 1 boy and 4 girl as noted on recce. *Owl hunt - Took children behind huts and various buildings where they couldn't be seen / where potential dangers could not be seen.
