Overall WST were very helpful but there were a few issues during the trip. WST did not pass on dietary requirements to hostel. Our travel rep was unable to meet us at the airport on the outbound journey and didn't contact us about this, and the coach driver in Geneva was provided the wrong information by WST. The agents WST were phenomenal and we will be asking them again to provide a quote for future overseas Geography visits. Support provided out of hours for a difficult situation involving one of the tour companies employees was second to none. The out of hours contact number was answered and timely advice sought. we were all split up amogst members of the public on the Thames cruise which made supervision/safeguarding very difficult. As an improvement for next time we need to be assured that we can all be seated in the same area of the boat - when we boarded, there was room for ua to have done this but the crew member insisted on directing us upstairs when there was only a few seats available and in 2s and 3s amongst members of the public. The staff that I spoke to were very helpful and seemed to be well organised. However, there were two occasions where communication between WST and other providers seemed to break down. Ont he first day, the Pizza Express restaurant claimed that thye had not received the pre-order from WST leading to a delay in everyone receiving their food. On the second day, the Premier Inn staff claimed that they were not aware that we had booked for breakfast which again led to a delay in students getting their food. (July 2023 - Secondary School)

The company outsource the guide for the trip, Ken Lees, who is an outstanding guide, his knowledge and authority for dealing with a large group are first class. 1) On the journey into London the coach driver took a very 'Scenic' route going North and coming back down to Wembley via the Dartford tunnel and who knows where - we didn't arrive at the hotel until 11.30/11.45 2) When we arrived at the hotel we were unable to leave our luggage in a room as agreed prior to departure - we were also not able to check in until after the theatre performance in the evening, as the hotel was so far out of central London (hour and half journey each way). 3) The itinerary was not particularly well planned with the two meals being on the same day, with a 2 hour break in between (our kids eat a lot - but that would take some doing!) Luckily we were able to re-arrange this, but it shouldn't have been planned this way?? 4) When we returned to the hotel, we again had a room with 4 boys and 2 double beds (hotel were great and sorted it pretty quickly, but what was the point of doing the rooming lists beforehand??) 5) During the breakfast it was mentioned to me that the hotel staff were a bit abrupt/rude to our students 6) The drivers had hotel rooms booked but did not stay in them?? 7) In the morning the 2nd coach was half an hour late for picking us up (had a knock on effect for the timings of the day!) 8) coach drivers had not been told where they were bringing us to for our final pick up (thought they were going back to hotel) Think this was an issue with the coach company not necessarily WST but still not great! On a positive note, the tickets for the show were really good, and both performances were great, the workshop was the best one I've ever done on a school trip (very impressed with the delivery and the amount of staff they had running it!) hotel rooms were ok (not as nice as a premier inn!) and we made good time on the journey home despite a few wrong turns!
