Wilderness Expertise

Developing Potential

Description

A deliberately small, tailored, high quality provider with a focus on personal development who have been working in the field of education since 1994. Wilderness Expertise provides a range of personal development programmes to schools (years 4- 13), all levels of the Duke of Edinburgh Award in the UK and overseas and a wide variety of other overseas opportunities.

Our overseas programmes range from 8 to 28 days and typically include some form of physical challenge, a phase of voluntary work and an opportunity to explore the host country. We also offer community based voluntary work programmes through Inspire Worldwide, including a bespoke programme just for female participants.

We place significant emphasis on the value of learning outside the classroom and the positive benefits that the great outdoors can bring. This includes improving student's resilience and ability to cope under stress.

The assessors were brilliant and ensure students were safe at all times. (July 2021 - Secondary School)

Wilderness were excellent in understanding the covid fragility of this proactive and assessment. ( We lost one student in a covid bubble ). Once all on site they were still understanding of what could happen on a day to day basis. During the assessment the assessors were excellent in their work with our two gold groups and gave the school all the support needed. (April 2021 - Secondary School)

Wilderness were excellent in helping our students achieve this silver award. They were flexible in their understanding of how covid fragile the situation was. Once on the assessment they provided fantastic support to the students appreciating that the mileage was long doing back to back practise and assessment (April 2021 - Secondary School)
