Good venue for Year 6 pupil to learn about Classification of animals and adaptation.
Education sessions had to be split into 2 groups 80 pounds for 43 pupils not 1.60 per pupil as per website due to size of classrooms.

The visit was really well organised and the workshop was at the right level for each of the classes we booked it for.
They were helpful with booking and allowed me to amend numbers as necessary. (January 2020 - Primary School)
Some of the animal enclosures are fantastic, others (particularly the polar bears) are quite depressing.
Gift shop was over-crowded, staff could have been more helpful.
Educational provider was very good with the children. (January 2020 - Primary School)

It's a wonderful place to go although both times I have been the weather has been particularly hot which has meant that many of the animals are inactive. Perhaps when planning again we will aim for a spring rather than summer visit. (September 2019 - Primary School)
(September 2019 - Primary School)
The park struggled to cater for the number of students we had on our trip, there was only one cafe open for them to buy their lunch. (September 2019 - Secondary School)

A good zoo and lovely day, but the supervision of the girls made it difficult. They expected constant supervision so the girls were unable to walk around themselves. (July 2019 - Secondary School)
Fantastic venue - amazing animals to see and all cared for. Lots of information given, really helpful staff. (July 2019 - Primary School)
The park was extremely busy which made moving around the park with a class of children difficult. However, the children enjoyed seeing the animals and the handling session was very good. (July 2019 - Primary School)

YWP were very accommodating. Our coaches initially did not turn up and YWP rearranged our workshops to ensure we did not miss out. The staff were extremely helpful and the park is aimed just right for children and has an amazing array of animals that the children would not normally get to see. (June 2019 - Primary School)

We love visiting Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Such a great day out for our pupils. So many different animals to see and the education sessions are always led by enthusiastic staff. Entrance to park is organised and hassle free. Only difficulty is with the number of toilets when there are other schools visiting the park. (May 2019 - Primary School)

Excellent setting for school visits. Could just be improved with an accessible undercover area in case of bad weather or for schools to access at set times for lunch on busy days. (May 2019 - Primary School)
It was easy to communicate with the park and they allowed us to visit the park free of charge for the risk assessment. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and they kindly answered the (many) questions from the kids. We had an education session about polar bears which was a brilliant hands-on experience for the kids (obviously not with real, live polar bears). The children were able to see lots of different animals even in the cold weather. There was no where to store our lunches but this was communicated to us prior to the trip so we were prepared, the rest of the facilities were very good. (April 2019 - Primary School)

We really enjoyed seeing all the different animals around the park. All the different areas and enclosures meant we could concentrate on particular animals without distraction of other nearby animals and remain focused. There is a wide variety of animals from large bears, big cats, giraffes and rhinoceros to smaller wallabies, lemurs and baboons. The needs of the animals was obvious to the children by what had been provided in the enclosures. Leaflets with feeding times were provided which meant we could see what foods the animals ate too. (November 2018 - Primary School)

The wildlife park itself was lovely and the children really enjoyed the experience. They loved being able to walk through the animals' environments and seeing them in their natural habitats. The only issue that we had was that the children had only one water bottle with them and there were no facilities to fill them up as we were told by a staff member that she couldn't fill them up because they were short staffed on this particular day. The park is a great experience for children with a variety of animals. The workshops are really good and you get to the hold the animals.
It was 29 degrees when we went and, as the animals were quite spread out, there was a lot of walking for young children in such heat with not much shaded areas. (July 2018 - Primary School)
