Broadening Horizons at Sea
Description
The Excelsior Trust provides residential sailing voyages for young people and adults alike on board our historic wooden ship, Excelsior LT472.
Embarking on a voyage across the North Sea on a ship that was built in the last century is quite a feat for anyone, let alone a young person or struggling adult still learning who they are and where they see themselves in the future. A week on board a vessel like Excelsior can be the catalyst for many in developing a stronger sense of self, increasing confidence, communication and social skills. Focusing on team building and working with others, we pride ourselves on the significant impact one week with us can have on the rest of their lives.
With the options of either whole ship charter, or individual berths being booked, you have the flexibility to suit your group and their needs. We can accommodate up to 12 people on each voyage.
Our crew are experienced and passionate about the work we do, and if you have any specific or individual needs or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us where we can help further.
Take a look at our website for details of trips that our open to the general public or contact us for group booking availability.
As a member of ASTO (Association of Sail Training Organisations) we are also able to deliver the training for the RYA Competent Crew and Watch Leader awards and we are also an Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Rsidential.
Excelsior also offers opportunities for day sailing, as well as moored educational day visits where younger school children can visit the ship and learn more about our maritime history, the vessel, and the impact sailing can have going forward into the future.
