A superb venue and facilitators for our residential. All our needs were met, the accommodation was clean and the food was excellent. All of the instructors were fantastic with our Y6 children - some of whom had additional needs. Would highly recommend for residentials. (November 2023 - Primary School)

Herd Farm really developed the children's life skills. This was evident throughout the trip, not just the activities.

Herd Farm was a great venue but was let down by the weather.
Activities in the round houses had potential however the dull day made visibility difficult and therefore the children struggled.
There was no access to indoors and on a cold, wet day the children needed to be more active to stay warm or a fire could have been lit over dinner.
Groups who visited on days with better weather, had a much more successful visit. (November 2018 - Primary School)

We had a really fantastic trip to Herd Farm led by Tina and Ian. The children loved the activities of tepee building, exploring the round houses and hunting deer. The presentations by the leaders were very informative. They thoroughly explained the artefacts shown and allowed some children to look/hold them more closely. It would have been helpful/more engaging if all of the children were able to have a closer look at the artefacts. The children had a selection of activities to participate in such as tee-pee building, spear throwing and observation of a fire being made. It may have been more beneficial to be involved in more activities such as these as the more active part of the day was thoroughly enjoyed by the children. (February 2018 - Primary School)
